Welcome

The Locanda-Restaurant “La Clusaz” is situated in Gignod, in the hearth of Aosta Valley, along the road that arrives at Gran San Bernardo Pass.

From 1987 Maurizio Grange and Sevi Math work together inspired by a great passion in order to offer their guests a pleasant welcome.

The Restaurant

A charming atmosphere which evokes quietness and pleasure, comfort and authenticity. The warm of the burning fireplace, the ambient lighting and the soft sounds characterized the restaurant room where Sevi Math takes care of the important relationship between guests and kitchen.

Le Restaurant Auberge “La Clusaz” se trouve à Gignod, en Vallée d’Aoste, sur la route qui conduit au tunnel et au col du Grand Saint Bernard.
Depuis 1987 Maurizio Grange et Sevi Math consacrent une très grande attention à l’accueil de tous leur clients: une atmosphère comfortable qui offre un séjour inoubliable.

The Restaurant

He consacrates a great care and attention in the choice of the raw materials. Freshness and high quality of goods are the key words of Maurizio Grange’s kitchen where he focuses his attention during the preparation of wonderful dishes and he coordinates his staff work. Thanks to his great interest and passion in the cheese sector, he can offer his guests a rich selection of different kinds of cheese perfectly combined with marmelades and jellies, oils, “passito” wines and fruit schnapps. He really likes to continue a home production of cured meats, some of which underwent a smoking process, and cheeses. Both the products can easily combine with soups or desserts, by adding them some cinnamon, rhum and brown sugar.

He is extremely specialized in the preparation and cooking of different types of meat. Thank to his great genius he really likes creating excellent dishes rich in amazing combination of tastes. At present he is the executive chef of Restaurant La Clusaz.

The great passion for patisserie and the combination of flavours allow him to create excellent desserts which are able to satisfy the most demanding palates through a sweet and slow travel. The Gambero Rosso Prize he received in 2018 for the best patisserie has been confirmed in 2019 too.

A simple and very well organized space. All the bottles are stocked on shelves all along the room, vertically and horizontally, according to the cork variety. The cellar is marked by the presence of a long barrel vault which guarantees a regular humidity and temperature: the perfect conditions for the wine preservation and ageing. Maurizio Grange and Sevi Math, both skilled sommellier, offer their guests the best suggestions about wines and food combination.

The best way to end a marvellous evening is the tasting of the rich variety of Schnapps and Rhum suggested by Maurizio Grange.

At the reception it is possible to get all the information about the special agreement for the Spa&Wellness service at Pré Saint Didier Spa as well as about the detailed programme of shows, exhibitions and local walkings.

In the second room guests have the possibility to taste a cup of tea or to read a good book in a relaxing ambience. This room represents the ideal solution for small private meetings.

Close to the wood, beside the rooms, there is a marvellous terrace which can be used as a solarium during the day and as a drinking area during the evening. A relaxing night walk in the wood can be done before the cocktail time or after the dinner to end the day in a magic way!.
